Topher Alan Payne

Topher Alan Payne is new to the New York area — recently hailing from Detroit, Michigan.  Originally from the plains of Texas, Topher has a BFA in Acting Performance from Texas Tech University with a minor in Education.  After 3 years inspiring and being inspired while teaching high school theatre students in Owasso, Oklahoma, he went on to get his MFA in Acting from Wayne State University. He has worked across the country acting with Tulsa’s American Theatre Company, Lubbock Moonlight Musicals, The Angel Fire Mountain Theatre Company of New Mexico, and the Berkshire Fringe Festival.   In Detroit, he worked with Two Muses Theatre and The Ringwald Theatre.  He co-founded Open Book Theatre Company which goes on to create professional contemporary theatre works for the Downriver Detroit community.  Having recently moved to the city, he is excited to continue his professional career in the big city while holding tight to his southern small-town charm!
